My internet beginnings

Feral heart was what kickstarted my internet usage

The history of FeralHeart is not much documented. My own history with this game starts somewhere in 2012. I was a loner preteen with a laptop so naturally, this game was right up my alley. Internet friends, animal avatars, roleplays and endless custom maps and content. What else would a girl need? I have spent so many hours in roleplays and chatting with peeps, i have a lot of fond memories with FL. Too bad this game has been nuked completely now. The official site is down. There are now games like it (FeralHeart unleashed) but i haven't gotten a hang of it. It isn't the game i played :(

FeralHeart was created by KovuLKD as a sequel to his previous game, Impressive Title. The game was released near the end of 2010 and featured just a few maps and character customization markings. The party chat feature was added on June 28, 2011. It allowed players to form temporary groups to chat or play games with just people in the party. On July 13, 2011, the stretch, roar, and howl animations were added. On December 24, 2011, a patch with new maps, emotes, wings, and bug fixes was released. This patch also added support for Macs. KovuLKD is believed to have left the community around early 2012 after finishing his work on FeralHeart. On November 27, 2015, a group of users managed to hack the game in order to take control of staff accounts, abuse a limited set of moderation powers, and alter the size and proportions of some characters. However, no user data was compromised during this incident. It is believed that the hackers obtained a leaked copy of the game's source code, which they used to exploit bugs. The issue was promptly addressed to prevent further hacking. On June 9, 2016, a large update was released that replaced all the original maps with new ones, added new items and meshes, replaced a commonly abused animation with a new one, replaced most of the in-game music, and reworked the UI textures. This update was the first major update to be released after the founder KovuLKD left. On November 3, 2018, a patch with a new map called Kibou Ridge, a redesigned Eastern Pass map, and changes to Ficho Tunnels was released. On July 9, 2019, a patch added the ability to change the size of tails, the ability to select more character colors individually, an emote slider, and other small improvements. This was the first update to include changes to the source code since KovuLKD left. Source:wikifur
